Among the most inventive and influential bands in the history of popular music, 10cc are one of the very few acts to have achieved commercial, critical and creative success in equal measure. In 1974, Lol Creme and Kevin Godley of 10cc invented a nifty little musical device that should have revolutionized the guitar world. The Gizmotron® was an attachable device that had the ability to create “authentic sounds of such stringed instruments as violins, violas and cellos,” and maintain “infinite sustain.” It was a remarkable invention by any standards and should have achieved what it said on the can and made much moolah for its inventors. Sadly, it hasn’t yet. Just as the audience embraced the illusion, the real Cher appeared—not as herself, but as Laverne, her brash housewife character from her '70s TV show. This unexpected, campy juxtaposition was pure Cher: audacious, hilarious, and clever. The “real” Cher emerged only after this self-referential intro, highlighting her playful awareness of her larger-than-life persona. The opening set the tone for a tour brimming with theatricality and charm. In one climactic moment, Cher soared above the stage, carried by dancers as the audience’s ecstatic cheers cemented her dominance as a live performer. Decades later, the footage retains its magic, a testament to Cher’s ability to captivate like no one else.

Acoustic in Concert is the sixth live album by Scottish rock band Simple Minds, released in June 2017. On the eve of the Acoustic album release on 11 November 2016, Simple Minds took to the stage at London's Hackney Empire to perform a special show for the BBC's Radio 2 In Concert series. The show comprised acoustic versions of some of their greatest hits and best-loved tracks along with cover versions of some of the songs that shaped them. The Hackney Empire show was recorded and broadcast by the BBC in association with Eagle Vision to be released in its own right as Acoustic in Concert several months later (in June 2017) on CD, DVD and Blu-ray formats.

ABBA Voulez - Vous Deluxe Edition

Voulez-Vous is the sixth studio album by Swedish group ABBA, released in 1979. It was the first ABBA album to be recorded at Polar Studios in Stockholm, and the only ABBA album to include a studio recording made outside Sweden. Some of the songs were secretly written and demoed at Compass Point Studios in Nassau, Bahamas, and the title track was recorded at Criteria Studios in Miami. Voulez-Vous was first released on CD in 1984. The album has been digitally remastered and reissued four times; first in 1997, then in 2001 and in 2005 as part of the The Complete Studio Recordings box set, and yet again in 2010 for the Voulez-Vous Deluxe Edition.
