Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran will kick off an all-new season of “VH1 Storytellers” LIVE from Dublin, Ireland on Saturday, January 24, 2015. VH1 is rewriting the script on its critically acclaimed music franchise “VH1 Storytellers,” and for the first time in network history, the series will be broadcast LIVE from a venue of special meaning to the performing artist. In this tradition, Sheeran will perform and share personal stories from his life that have inspired his chart-topping songs from Whelan’s in Dublin, the venue where he first saw the artist that made him want to pursue music — Damien Rice. “It’s amazing to come back to perform at a place that means so much to me personally,” says Sheeran. “I was only about 11 or 12 years old when I saw Damien play at Whelan’s, and that night literally changed my life. The time he spent talking with me after the show made all the difference. It inspired me in a way that I only hope to do for someone else.”

In his modern staging, producer David Alden has resorted to all kinds of magic tricks. The mourning Almirena, for example, is suspended like a paralysed mermaid in a neon-blue water tank for her aria Lascia ch'io pianga. Armida constantly struggles to make her obstinate pet Hydra see reason, and no expense is spared on the stylishly artistic dance interludes. The characters move in an ironic blend of Twenties look, trendy club scene and sacro' kitsch. Unsurprisingly, opera-goers were quick to latch onto such a glittering and star studded production. Indeed, there can be no doubt that the American David Daniels is the undisputed star of this Munich production, even alongside the other famous names on the cast list.

"Viens voir le paysage" is based on the recording of a show during the tour of the Heptade in 1977. This unique film, of a rare intensity, is a living painting augmented with image treatments superimposed on the images of the time. This creation remains the only video recording of the group Harmonium on stage playing the integral of L'Heptade recently discovered and accompanied by a new audio mix in 5.1. You will also find on the DVD the unpublished song "C'est dans le noir". This piece, which had never been recorded in the studio, served as a presentation to the show of The Heptade on stage.
