Honorable Skate
2024
For more than 20 years, skaters from Asunción have been demanding from the authorities, without being heard, a public space where they can practice the sport. “Honorable Skate” is a cry of struggle. A request that became a demand. It is our way of saying that we are here and we will continue to be here. A wish that we want to come true, not for ourselves, but for the little ones. It is a tribute to the effort of all skaters who, throughout decades of self-management and dedication to a sport that is now Olympic, despite the falls always got back up.

Nie wieder Arbeit - Die APPD, der legale Arm der Chaos-Tage?
1998 · ★ 7
A "life without work" - this is the idea propagated by the "Anarchist Pogo Party of Germany" (APPD). In order to spread its unique political concept and to make the background to its activities appear transparent and credible to the voting public, the APPD commissioned a renowned film production company to create a loose mixture of subliminal propaganda and sympathetic trivialization. The film was also to focus on the glorification of the APPD politicians appearing in the election campaign in order to create the basis for a profitable cult of personality. A film that makes it crystal clear, compelling and, of course, intentional that the mob is on its way to power.

Making Noise ~ The Story of a Skatepark
2018
Making Noise chronicles the long struggle of the skateboarders of Northfield, Minnesota, to secure a permanent place for their sport. Shot in close collaboration with the latest generation of skateboarders, the film follows their efforts as they meet with city officials to fundraise, envision, and design a skatepark that seems to fit nowhere. A voiceover narration recorded by the skaters and based on city records, reveals the inefficiency of a process slowed down by outdated stereotypes about skateboarding and a thinly veiled resistance to the skateboarders. The film calls into question Northfield’s open-minded and friendly reputation in light of the community’s delay to find a place for its own youths. Making Noise bears witness to young people’s resilience and perseverance as it exposes the victories and failures of the civic process in small town America.

During the project, named Red Bull Building Drop, Dias hit a speed of 103kph, skating from a height of 70m with a drop of 60m, which was measured from the lowest point of the ramp to the platform. You can watch highlights in the video above. Dubbed the "ultimate skate ramp" by local fans, the CAFF's towering 88.91m-high structure had been transformed into a temporary skate playground with a custom plywood overlay, creating the perfect surface for Dias's groundbreaking drop-in.
