This is an installation documentary created in 2015. The quiet process of making boxes indoors reflects the author's patience and caution, the narration when the screen is black reflects the author's familiarity and confidence in what he wants to express, and the dodging perspective and trembling picture when facing the crowd outdoors reflect the photographer's cramped and alienated. A lot of things happened after 2015, and the film was re-edited. The current version has almost used the best materials of that year.

Berlin: Symphony of a Great City

Gawlo

When first-generation Canadian filmmaker Aïcha Diop discovers she shares DNA with hundreds of Black Americans descended from the trans atlantic slave trade, she recruits her new found American cousin to join her on an adventure to uncover a centuries old web of Black ancestral resistance, from Senegal, to the American South, and Canada. This journey crescendos in a revelatory meeting with Aïcha’s family historians, her Gawlos, and demonstrates how ancestral knowledge can plant the seeds of revolution.

The Crying of the Sea

Cosme and Monica live with their children and grandchildren in Bahia de Kino, a fishing town in the northern State of Sonora, Mexico. They used to call themselves predators of the sea until one day they became unable to kill a sea turtle. Submerged in a crisis, they embark on a journey to try to save their way of life and of their fishing town through the creation of an environmental community group in charge of protecting sea turtles.

James Bay 1975: The Shock of Two Nations

A dive into the origins of two revolutions: the rapid expansion of Hydro-Québec with the construction of the La Grande hydroelectric power plant, a project championed by Premier Robert Bourassa, and the awakening of Indigenous nations. A clash of civilizations where two worldviews collide. Quebec, buoyed by the momentum of the Quiet Revolution, takes control of its destiny. Meanwhile, in the North, young Inuit and Cree rise up for the first time to protect what is most precious to them: their land and their culture. At the heart of the conflict is the James Bay construction site, the largest of its kind in North America.
