The film explores the tensions that arise when such communities come face to face with the complex institutions responsible for enforcing the law. The result of these tensions is a narrative worthy of Kafka, in which a doorway to justice is opened for the sole purpose of demonstrating that no one can pass through it.

Thoughts, sometimes just numbers, reach us from offscreen almost like music, like a mantra or a prayer. What we see are circular fragments from familiar spaces: a mirror, a magnifying glass. A day like any other day: without medication, or perhaps better with? A film like the investigation of an uncertainty principle: do we really see better with a magnifying glass? A face scratched out of the family album: the gap is draped with flowers and cut-out pictures of clothes and finally filled again by a drawing.

A short experimental documentary that interrogates how the modernization of parks and playgrounds in Long Branch (a neighbourhood in South Etobicoke in Toronto, Canada) both reflects and contributes to the overall rise in the cost of living in the area by exploring children's relationships to the community spaces around them. The film includes footage from four local parks and playgrounds, personal archival materials, interviews with five South Etobicoke locals, and an art-based workshop at a local junior middle school.
