Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood: Live from Madison Square Garden

Winwood and Clapton crossed musical paths in 1969 with the formation of Blind Faith, a group that pioneered the fusion of rock and blues into tremendous studio and stage success. Despite critical and popular acclaim, the band was short-lived with only one album and a brief 1969 tour that debuted July 12 at Madison Square Garden and ended August 24 in Hawaii. Since then, Winwood and Clapton have remained friends but have only performed together a few times over the years for an occasional song at a charity event. The 2008 Madison Square Garden shows were the first full Winwood-Clapton concerts in almost 40 years.

On June 7th, 1986, Prince celebrated his 28th birthday by performing for a packed crowd at Detroit’s Cobo Arena. The show was filmed and edited for later broadcast in Europe and Japan as promotion for his then-forthcoming 1986 Parade tour, which hit eight countries in less than a month. In 1992, to make the Christmas atmosphere more pleasant, Ostrava's creators prepared a musical programme in which a number of well-known carols will be performed by the Rožnov gajdoš, the Beskydská muzika brass band and the children's ensemble Zvoneček from the Pod Skalkou Primary School in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm. The programme will also feature several well-known personalities who will talk about what Christmas means to them: the actor Josef Kobr, the director of the Wallachian Open Air Museum PhDr. Jaroslav Štika, the Olympic winner Vítězslav Mácha, the former Polish Consul General Jerzy Kronhold and the businessman Peter Kominek.
