The purpose of the Amateur CGA contest was to provide a forum for amateur CGA works to be showcased and widely promoted to the general public, while also promoting the quality of amateur CGA. No restrictions applied to the type of device or software used. Professionals were welcome to submit works that were produced privately using private equipment. Works previously submitted to other contests were also eligible for submission.
