When Volcom was founded in 1991, it was the first company to combine skateboarding, surfing and snowboarding under one brand from its inception. This way of life influenced the anti-establishment style and attitude that defined a generation. The cultural phenomenon was best captured when Volcom released "Alive We Ride" in 1993: a film documenting the raw excitement and spontaneous creativity inherent to the lifestyle. Twenty-one years later, with the release of "True To This", Volcom again captures the energy and artistry of board-riding in its purest forms. We start the journey from his home—an Ambulance parked outside a community centre—and venture across town to the local coffee shop. We gain powerful insights from Andy as he weaves his way down the street, takes shortcuts through alleyways, runs through a forested ravine and skates uphill. "It's the dead space I'm excited about." We observe how his attitude toward each spot—and every random encounter—brings them to life.

This Is Brighton

As skateboarding becomes an Olympic sport, this character-driven film reveals the anxiety and pressures of competition, effects of social media, and how a global pandemic upended the promise of a young skater destined to be the best.

Sandro Dias's Ultimate Skate Ramp

Brazilian skateboarding legend Sandro Dias made history, breaking two Guinness World Records™ after dropping in from the curved facade of the 22-story Centro Administrativo Fernando Ferrari (CAFF) building in Porto Alegre, Brazil. During the project, named Red Bull Building Drop, Dias hit a speed of 103kph, skating from a height of 70m with a drop of 60m, which was measured from the lowest point of the ramp to the platform. You can watch highlights in the video above. Dubbed the "ultimate skate ramp" by local fans, the CAFF's towering 88.91m-high structure had been transformed into a temporary skate playground with a custom plywood overlay, creating the perfect surface for Dias's groundbreaking drop-in.

Jackass: The Movie
