2021 was a turning point for Belarus and 6 Belarusian students - as well as for the city of Łódź, Poland, in which they found themselves. Across the rails of change and transformation, documenting a time that has not been before and will not repeat again. Heroes of the film have very different fates and experiences, but they are all connected by the place they found themselves in - the post-industrial and post-apocalyptic city, which becomes a part of their story and a hero of its own. Students, transport, quaters, youth, revolution, local apocalypse, changes and turns - they all mix in a documentary kaleidoscope 'Across the Rails'.

I followed the everyday lives of Ali, Kais, Ertan and Alban with my camera for over two years. The time was characterized by disappointments, conflicts and also great successes. It all began with a visit to the "Klingelpütz" youth center in the middle of Cologne. Young migrants have been meeting here for many years.

In January 1972, during General Lanusse's dictatorship in Argentina, a group of revolutionary activists occupied the National Development Bank, just meters from the Government House, expropriating 450 million pesos (approximately 10 million dollars today) for their cause. This was made possible by Oscar Serrano and Ángel Abus—activists and bank employees—who spent two years preparing what would become the biggest blow to the dictatorship's finances. Forty years later, Oscar and Ángel, along with a group of actors, recreate those events that changed their lives. In this dialogue between generations, the young people transform their perspective on activism and commitment during those years. With this historical approach as its base, the film looks at the way HIV is viewed in today's society, revealing a picture of persistent misinformation and prejudice, which especially affects Brazil’s most historically vulnerable populations.
