The series follows Jake Cardigan, a former police officer turned private investigator working for Cosmos, a private security firm owned and operated by Walter Bascom. The series was broadcast in Canada on CTV and in the United States on USA Network and the Sci Fi Channel. The series, which was a co-production between Atlantis Films and Universal Television premiered on January 17, 1994 and ended on February 9, 1996.

After ten years behind the bars in Taiwan, Kong Sai-Hao finally returns to Hong Kong. Besides hoping to find his daughter Yau-Yau to mend their relationship, he also plans for revenge. On one hand, he pretends to surrender to triad boss To Yik-Tin, the man who caused him to be jailed. On the other hand, he tries to gain trust from police officers Chung Lap-Man and Lee Pak-Kiu. Pak-Kiu refuses to have a criminal as his friend, but Lap-Man becomes a undercover cop in Sai-Hao's gang. Along with Sai-Hao, they overrule Yik-Tin and take over the mafia, and the two develop a misconceived mentor-student relationship. Unfortunately, Lap-Man gets fired from the police force before he can finish his mission in the mafia. He becomes Sai-Hao's people and turns his back against the police force.

Witse is a Dutch language crime drama produced by Belgian broadcaster VRT and broadcast on their één channel. It is also shown on BVN. First broadcast in 2004, as of 2010 the programme comprises eight series with a ninth and final series planned for 2012. It stars Hubert Damen as the eponymous Witse, a driven inspector in the Belgian federal police based in Halle. It is one of the most popular Flemish television programmes with some 1.6 million viewers. There are also Witse books. The first three were based on the last two episodes of each season, but since 2010 every six months a brand new story is published, written and invented by established Belgian writers, as Bob Van Laerhoven and Bart Van Lierde. The music for Witse is composed by Steve Willaert.
